On 4 September, the Starline Group took over Poly Products, thereby strengthening its position in the area of fibre-reinforced products in the Benelux.
Takeover combines forces and offers opportunities for growth
“The takeover of Poly Products fits completely with our growth ambitions.” “By combining our strengths, knowledge and skills, we can serve our joint customers even better and continue to increase our market share,” says Victor de Vries, Managing Director of the Starline Group. “The takeover also brings with it various new opportunities for growth, such as cooperation on a range of projects.”
Starline Group has already been a market leader and trendsetting producer of swimming pools, whirlpools and swimming-pool covers for 45 years. Starline Group has its own division of fibre-reinforced composite products for construction, civil engineering and industry too. The group is also a wholesaler of swimming-pool equipment for both the public and private swimming-pool markets.
Starline is the only swimming-pool producer with its own actual physical products in Belgium and the Netherlands, making it unique.
Starline distributes in Europe, through an international network of partners, under six different brand names and companies:
Starline - Roldeck - Poolquip - Starline Composites - Ocea - Hydrodeck
The Starline Group is located in Valkenswaard (the Netherlands), Pelt (Belgium), Perwez (Belgium) and Witney (UK) and has more than 90 employees.
Poly Products has already been a specialist in the development and production of fibre-reinforced products and constructions for 50 years. They are active in segments such as the petrochemicals and chemicals industry, recreation, transport, design, architectonic objects and superyacht construction.
The team at Poly Products has the in-house knowledge and experience to provide customers with expert advice and to manage projects, from product idea to concrete solution.
Poly Products is one of the biggest and most experienced specialists in fibre-reinforced products in the Netherlands. At the moment, they are investing in the construction of the world's largest fibre-reinforced 3D printer, which can process thermoplastics (composites). Thermoplastics are very relevant at the moment, thanks to circularity and sustainability.
Poly Products is located in Werkendam and has 30 employees.
Both companies will retain their own names and will continue to operate completely independently, from their current locations. They will also be able to make use of synergy as well as each other’s expertise. Starline Group and Poly Products will also work together on multidisciplinary projects.
With the combination of the two companies, almost all projects can be made at various locations, from design to product.
Over the course of 2020, Jan Schrama, founder and Managing Director of Poly Products, will take a step back, once a suitable successor is found. Due to his many years of experience and involvement, he will remain actively involved in the company, however.
