Why would I opt for a pump with a variable speed?
It depends entirely on what you really want: if you want the water of your swimming pool to be filtered fast and are willing to fund the extra cost, then this is not necessary. A variable speed pump takes longer to filter, but will save you between 200 and 400 euros annually in energy costs. This is because you can choose for yourself at what speed the pump will filter, based on what your swimming pool requires at that moment. What's more, a variable speed pump generally lasts longer than a standard pump.
