Frequently Asked Questions

What are the pros and cons of the different types of swimming pool?

Each type of swimming pool has its pros and cons, but it’s essential to compare similar products.

The pros and cons of the different swimming pools:

  • Swimming pools constructed in-situ and covered with liner, (mosaic) tiles or just cement.

The biggest benefit of a self-build swimming pool is that its form is free, so you can custom build it. However, the dimensions of swimming pools are almost always the same so this benefit is less substantial than it seems at first glance.

The drawback of swimming pool liners is their limited design life (5-8 years) and the risk of bubbling, ruptures or disintegration. Mosaic tiles can also corrode quickly in swimming pool water.

  • Vinyl-ester swimming pools are supplied complete as a single unit ex-factory.

Firstly, one important difference is that a Monoblock swimming pool is produced in a production hall free of external influences, such as weather. A self-build swimming pool on the other hand is constructed on location in your garden. Monoblock swimming pools are made using a mould, so they can be installed relatively quickly. Because it is made of a single piece, the Monoblock swimming pool is watertight and is free of seams.

At Starline, the Monoblock swimming pool is not only made as a single unit, but is also fully prepared at the factory as a complete turnkey swimming pool, including all fixtures, pipework and accessories.

Self-build swimming pools involve a longer production process, as they are built to order. The Monoblock swimming pool can be installed in the garden in one go, keeping any nuisance to a minimum.

  • Polypropylene swimming pools.

Polypropylene swimming pools are much less appealing in terms of quality and appearance than genuine composite swimming pools. Polypropylene is usually selected for reasons of cost.

We vergelijken twee verschillende zwembaden:
